Mid-Kansas Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen For The Cure
The Mid-Kansas Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen For The Cure is now utilizing FlipperSiteDeveloper to easily manage their Web site and keep the content current and spread the work load among a variety of volunteers. They needed a solution that was easy-to-use, no technical experience required, yet one that would provide flexibility. Pen Publishing Interactive donated a Flipper site and another sponsor donated the design for their new Web site.
The Susan G. Komen foundation has a mission to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by funding research grants and supporting education, screening and treatment projects. Learn more at midkskomen.org
How's it working?
The Flipper Content Management System has greatly improved their ability to communicate with volunteers and promote upcoming events. It has also allowed committee members to keep their Web site up to date without having to learn any new technology. Since there was no software to install they created a committee of several people that can update the Web site at a moments notice.
With the 2007 Wichita Komen Race for the Cure® coming up they easily and quickly keep participants up to date on Race details. This year though they were able to provide participants with team packet details, Survivors with information on survivor events and kept volunteer’s informed on volunteer opportunities. They plan on ultilizing the Flipper Surveys module to easily gather feedback from Race participants so that they can improve the 2008 Wichita Komen Race for the Cure®.
October is National Breast Cancer awareness month and the Kick-off for "Cuisine for the Cure™" using Flipper events and downloads features has allowed the Foundation to promote this wonderful month-long cooking showcase of local chefs to a larger audience. They are also now able to provided participants a download registration form.
